Our Next Season at Freckled Fawn

Our Next Season at Freckled Fawn

Freckled Fawn Nature School has always been rooted in connection—connection to nature, to childhood, and to one another. What began as a small, heartfelt vision has grown into a thriving community shaped by the families, children, and shared experiences that have filled these days with purpose and joy.

As our family steps into a new season and prepares to relocate, we want to share an important update about the future of Freckled Fawn. This transition has not been made lightly. It has been approached with intention, care, and a deep sense of responsibility to the children and families who make this program what it is.

Over the past several months, we have worked behind the scenes to thoughtfully prepare for what comes next—ensuring that the heart of Freckled Fawn remains intact while creating a strong, supported path forward. Our goal has always been to make this transition feel steady, relational, and grounded in trust.

We are confident and excited to be passing leadership into the hands of individuals who share our values, our love for nature-based education, and our belief in honoring childhood through connection, exploration, and meaningful experiences.

Freckled Fawn is not coming to an end—it is continuing, growing, and entering a new season with care.

Transition Timeline

We have designed this transition to be gradual, relational, and well-supported—ensuring consistency for children and confidence for families every step of the way.

🌱 May – June | Foundation & Mentorship

During this time, Taylor and Lydia step into increased leadership roles while working closely alongside Melissa and Benjamin.

They will be:

  • Participating in daily program leadership

  • Building relationships with children and families

  • Learning systems, routines, and communication practices

  • Receiving hands-on mentorship and guidance

This phase is focused on creating familiarity, trust, and a strong foundation.

☀️ June – July | Shared Leadership (Summer Program)

Throughout the summer months, Taylor and Lydia will take on active leadership roles with continued support and presence from Melissa and Benjamin.

During this time:

  • They will be leading day-to-day programming

  • Families will see them as primary points of connection

  • Consistency in routines and expectations will be maintained

  • Melissa and Benjamin will remain present to support, guide, and ensure a smooth experience

This season allows for a natural and supported shift in leadership while maintaining stability for the children.

🌿 August | Official Transition

Beginning the first week of August, leadership of Freckled Fawn will officially transition to Taylor and Lydia.

At this point:

  • Taylor will step fully into the role of Director/Owner

  • Lydia will lead the Yearlings program

  • All operational systems, curriculum frameworks, and program structures will be in place

  • The program will continue with the same heart, values, and approach families have come to trust

🤝 Ongoing Support

Even after the official transition, Melissa and Benjamin will remain available during the early stages to offer support and ensure continued success.

Our goal is for this transition to feel:

  • Steady

  • Thoughtful

  • Relationship-centered

  • Grounded in care for your children

One Last Summer Together

This summer holds something especially meaningful for our Freckled Fawn community.

As we prepare to step into a new season, this will be our final summer leading Freckled Fawn. We would love to welcome both new and returning families to join us for a season filled with exploration, connection, and the kind of childhood magic that only happens outdoors.

Whether your child has spent years with us or is just discovering Freckled Fawn, this is a beautiful opportunity to be part of a special chapter in our story—one rooted in nature, wonder, and shared experience.

Spots are limited and camps tend to fill quickly. We encourage early registration if you’d like your child to join us.
